Course Details |
• Course Details: In the PADI Open Water Referral Dive course, your PADI Instructor takes you through the basics of learning how to scuba dive. You start in a pool and progress to the open water getting the background knowledge along the way. |
• Physical: For safety, all students complete a brief questionnaire that asks about medical conditions that could be a problem while diving. If none of these apply, you sign the form and you’re ready to start. If any of these apply to you, as a safety precaution your physician must assess the condition as it relates to diving and sign a medical form that confirms that you’re fit to dive. In some areas, local laws require all scuba students to consult with a physician before entering the course. Download medical statement |
• Water Skills: Before completing the Padi Open Water Diver Course, your instructor will have you demonstrate basic waterskill comfort by having you swim 200 metres/yards (or 300 metres/yards in mask, fins and snorkel). There is no time limit for this, and you may use any swimming strokes you want. You will also float and tread water for 10 minutes, again using any methods that you want. |
Three Course Components: • Online Theory: can be completed at your own pace, you must complete the knowledge development portion of the PADI Open Water Diver course online through PADI eLearning before you arrive in Fiji. (Ask us for details.) • Confined Water Training: You will complete 5 confined water training modules in the comfort of our swimming pool. Your instructor will demonstrate and teach you the skills and techniques necessary to become a PADI certified diver. • Open Water Dives: At this stage you have now mastered your confined water skills and it’s time to take you skills and knowledge to the ocean. You will enjoy four open water dives with your instructor. While enjoying the underwater environment, you will also demonstrate your skills for your instructor. |
• Equipment you’ll use during the course includes: mask, fins, snorkel, tank, regulator, buoyancy compensator, submersible pressure gauge and wet-suit. |
